Meet Daniel Goodwin, Our Owner

For Daniel Goodwin, working with dogs isn’t simply about teaching commands—it’s about restoring connection.
Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Daniel developed an early love for animals, wildlife, and the outdoors. That connection to nature shaped the way he saw the world, even though it would take years for him to realize just how important it was to the life he wanted to build.
His path eventually led him to the study of dog psychology and a deeper understanding of how dogs experience, communicate with, and respond to the world around them. What began as an interest became a calling.

Daniel discovered that many of the principles that create healthier relationships with dogs—patience, awareness, consistency, clear communication, and calm leadership—can also change the way we show up in our own lives.

That philosophy became the foundation for Best Path. Today, Daniel works with dogs and their people to move beyond frustration and toward greater understanding.
Rather than focusing solely on commands or temporary solutions, he helps owners understand the why behind their dog’s behavior and develop the confidence and skills needed to build a healthier relationship.
Â
Every dog is different. Every household is different. And Daniel believes the best training approach should reflect that. His commitment is simple: to approach every client and every dog with love, patience, respect, and understanding—and help each family find their Best Path forward.
I’d highly recommend Best Path to anyone who’s looking for someone who truly cares about dogs and gets real results!
